For the first time after fifteen years, a Czech film won the Crystal Globe at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival: Little Crusader by Václav Kadrnka was selected at the Roman market NCN (New Cinema Network) in 2013 and won the Eurimages Co-Production Development Award at that time.
The film, a “medieval road movie”, tells the story of Bořek,a knight who is desperately looking for his young son who left for the Holy Land in the legendary “Children’s Crusade”. The film is an adaptation of an epic poem by Jaroslav Vrchlický, a Czech poet and literary critic.
