MIA | The International Audiovisual Market, is a film and audiovisual industry event founded and implemented by ANICA, (Italian Association Of Film, Audiovisual And Digital Industries) and APA, (Audiovisual Producers Association), supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, by ICE (Italian Trade Agency), by the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Economic Development, by the Lazio Region. For the first time, this 2022 edition shall enjoy the patronage of Eurimages.

MIA is the most prestigious sector event in Italy and has fully entered the international agenda of meetings dedicated to audiovisual professionals.

The eighth edition takes place in Rome from October 11 to 15, 2022 in the Barberini district, a unique location in the city center with access from Palazzo Barberini.

The trade, dialogue, and energy generated by a market like MIA through the flow of new projects and ideas aimed at acquiring new IPs, discussing existent and emerging financial models and standards, propelling peer-to-peer encounters, all the way to generating sales, are the key elements for the success of this event.

MIA is a mirror of the audiovisual industry, an echo of the creative work and business models of the global audiovisual ecosystem, as well as a lens to investigate and explore the laws of the market while analyzing, scanning, and decoding the new potential scenarios linked to the new digital standards.

We have been working hard to transform MIA into a “curated market,” channeling the industry’s driving forces by leading producers, distributors, broadcasters, digital platforms, independent studios, majors, agencies, and talents from all over the world to Rome.

MIA is a “content market” that places content above all other activities, offering the accredited visitors a program including all formats and genres (films, series, documentaries, animation, entertainment) allotted within four editorial sectors – Animation, Doc & Factual, Drama and Film – while presenting specific programs in support of the global industry.

MIA is also a privileged heeding and discovery platform for European institutions. For the first time this year, MIA 2022 will host a series of meetings organized by Eurimages – Council of Europe focused on the study of financing plans for the serial industry and by the European Broadcasting Union, the largest alliance of European public broadcasters.

MIA places the Italian audiovisual sector excellence at the center of international dynamics as an essential hinge to reveal the many opportunities Italy can offer from a production, financial, creative, and scouting point of view.

To experience a 360-degree market experience, once again, all MIA sessions will be streamed and available on-demand on the MIA Digital platform as a complement to the accredited users who physically or digitally participate in MIA 2022 from all over the world.

General access to the MIA venues and events is exclusively reserved for accredited participants.

To apply for accreditation, please follow the procedure described at MyMIA. Accreditation conditions to join onsite and online MIA activities are detailed in the Accreditation Guidelines. Accreditation to MIA is personal, non-transferable, and digital (QR code sent by email). A valid ID may be required to access the venue.

The accredited market participants must comply with the Covid-19 protocols in force in Italy, taking care of themselves and others.

Please respect our hosting venues by observing the following rules:

  • do not bring food or drinks inside the museum or eat, drink or smoke (these activities must take place exclusively outdoors);
  • do not overcome barriers and do not touch works of art;
  • do not watch movies/trailers etc., without headphones/earphones.

MIA provides daily waste disposal and sanitation of all locations during the market days.

MIA embraces the values ​​of environmental awareness and sustainability. Participants are therefore required to use the appropriate recycling containers to separate their waste and limit the use of promotional paper material and disposable plastic items.

All MIA offices and spaces are under surveillance. Despite this, MIA cannot be held liable for any losses or damage to objects left unattended by their owners.
