On August 31, for one night only, the first two episodes of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power will premiere on the big screen. This prequel to The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit it set to be screened on Amazon Prime Video on September 2 but Amazon teamed up with Cinemark to give a chance to the fans to watch the debut episodes before.

 

The showrunners and executive producers of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power are J.D. Payne & Patrick McKay joined by other executive producers such as Lindsey Weber, J.A. Bayona and Callum Greene. There is also Wayne Che Yip as co-executive producer who directs along with J.A. Bayona and Charlotte Brändström. They bring to screens J.R.R. Tolkien’s Second Age of Middle-earth’s history severals years before the Lord of the Rings’ events. Indeed, for the first time since 1976, the intellectual properties of the main works of J.R.R Tolkien will change hands and will go to the Embracer Group wich claims to be very enthusiastic. The series tells the stories of different characters, both new and familiar, starting by a time of peace and tells all the major events of Middle-earth’s Second Age.

 

In the cast, on the other hand, we can find names like Cynthia Addai-Robinson as Míriel, Nazanin Boniadi as Bronwyn, Owain Arthur as Durin IV and Robert Aramayo as Elrond. The fantasy television series based on the appendices of the Lord of the Rings is produced by Amazon Studios and it will be the most expensive television series ever made.
