Born in Imola in 1968, he graduated in Economics with a degree in Audiovisual Production and a European Master’s specialization in Audiovisual Management.
He began his career in strategic consulting, working as a researcher and expert with domestic and foreign entities (Institute of Territorial Economic Studies in Parma; International Marketing and Planning Consultancy in London).
Between 1995 and 1998, he gained several important experiences in the audiovisual sector, working with production and distribution companies such as St/Art Produzioni Cinematografiche, Academy Pictures and Fandango where, in particular, with a central role in the development of film and television projects, he also contributed to the directorial debuts of Gabriele Muccino and Luciano Ligabue.
He began working with Rai in 1998, in the Cinemafiction department. Hired in 2000, he is assigned to the Rai 1 and Rai 2 channel with the task of working within the Fiction Production Department.
In 2016, within the same administration, he became head of the organizational unit “Miniseries, Current Affairs TV Movie and Docufiction.”
In 2021, he was appointed Deputy Director of Rai Fiction, maintaining responsibility for the organizational unit “Miniseries, Topical TV Movie and Docufiction” and later, the structure “Serialità 2, Topical TV Movie and Docufiction.”
As producer and editorial manager, he has supervised and edited some of Rai’s most important drama genre productions awarded by ratings and critics, from “La Meglio Gioventù” to “Domenico Modugno,” to the most recent “Makari” and “Carosello Carosone.”
Since 1997, he has been a lecturer at universities and graduate institutes as part of courses and master’s degrees dedicated to media and audiovisual production, including the Rossellini Institute, the University of Florence, La Sapienza in Rome, and the Catholic University of Milan.
In December 2021, he was appointed Director of the Documentary Directorate.
