The European Academy has announced the movies nominated for the European Film Awards.
Three films in particular are topping the list, all with four nominations: Ali Abbasi’s Holy Spider, Ruben Östlund’s Triangle of Sadness and Lukas Dhont’s Close, nominated for best film, director and screenplay. In addition, Zar Amir Ebrahimi was nominated for Best Actress for Holy Spider, while Zlatko Burić and Eden Dambrine were both nominated for Best Actor, respectively for Triangle of Sadness and Close.
The list of Best Actor nominees is very competitive. Besides Burić and Dambrine, we have Paul Mescal for Aftersun, Elliot Crochet Hove for Godland and Italian actor Pierfrancesco Favino for Nostalgia.
The awards ceremony will be held on Saturday, December 10 in the Harpa Conference and Concert Hall in Reykjavik.
