Humans of New York, the popular photography blog by Brandon Stanton, will become the first TV series by Facebook Watch, the social network’s new platform for streaming video which was launched a few weeks ago. The series will consist of twelve 30-minute episodes and will show interviews, as on the blog, which are conducted by Stanton himself with perfect strangers met in the streets of the metropolis. The series will be executive produced by Julie Goldman, the Oscar-nominated producer for the documentary Life, Animated in 2016.
“Facebook has had a huge role in the creation of Humans of New York”, Stanton said. “We can easily reach a huge and international stage: two-thirds of the audience live outside the Unites States”. Stanton’s blog is already followed by 18 million people and the episodes, which are streamed on Watch (the service is only available for a few users at present), will be released every week and has more than 1,200 interviews, which were collected in more than 400 days of filming.
