The new Minister of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism (MiBACT) Alberto Bonisoli issued statements on the Cinema Law. Here are the details.
The new calls for the allocation of contributions to films and audiovisual works for 2018 have been published on the Directorate-General for Cinema – MiBACT website. The call for contributions will finance €30.9 million (divided into three evaluation sessions). The promotion call will instead offer a total of €7.6 million funding with a single evaluation session for initiatives that support the sector. The new calls from the Directorate General Cinema MiBACT 2018 will provide the audiovisual sector with resources of €38.5 million.
The contributions for the 2018 calls have increased compared to the resources available for the year 2017, which added up to €36.6 million. And it has been precisely after the publication of the new calls 2018 that the new Minister of MiBACT Alberto Bonisoli has released his resolutions on the Cinema Law. The Minister of Cultural Heritage Alberto Bonisoli issued a press release in which he expressed his wish to meet the associations related to the film and audiovisual sector and consider their opinion on the Law.
The Minister Alberto Bonisoli has stated his will to “listen to the associations’ viewpoint regarding the implementation of the Cinema Law and the proposals to amend the implementing decrees. The meeting will put on the table all the necessary changes and improvements to define an updated and effective set of rules and an effective and meritocratic system of incentives”.
