Rai does not wish to be a passive observer of the big international agreements that are changing the TV market, as was the recent case between Mediaset and Sky. For this reason, yesterday the Italian company announced a new partnership with Amazon to launch their content on Amazon’s Prime Video platform.
This new alliance will enable Prime customers the access to multiple Rai content, like the TV series Rocco Schiavone, Medici and Il Cacciatore. These three series, in particular, will be available after being broadcasted on Rai television channels. The story Rocco Schiavone has been taken from one of Antonio Manzini’s novels. Medici, instead, is an international production with a great cast like Dustin Hoffman, who embodies the progenitor of the Florentine family, and Richard Madden. Il Cacciatore, instead, is the story of Saverio Barone, a Sicilian well-known magistrate for his brave anti-mafia operations (read here for more information).
Love and bullets, I Can Quit Whenever I Want and Holding Hands are only a few of the titles that will be part of the catalog’s film section.
And this good news does not come alone. The Italian television scene is also welcoming the arrival of Mediaset‘s new channel, a space that will surely draw the attention of a mostly masculine audience. Its debut, on April 3rd, came with the live broadcast of the football game Champions Juve-Real Madrid, but the channel will also include TV series and thrilling action movies with shootings, explosions, police chases and tones of violence in its programming.
