The registration period for the third edition of the Italy-Chile 2018 Co-development Fund has started. Applications can be submitted from May 31 to July 26, 2018.
The Fund was established on the 17 of May 2016, on the occasion of the 69th edition of the Cannes Film Festival. The agreement for the creation of the Fund was reached between the Directorate-General for Cinema of the Italian Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism (MiBACT) and CinemaChile – National Council for the Arts and Audiovisual Industry (Consejo del Arte y la Industria Audiovisual – Consejo Nacional de la Cultura y las Artes, CNCA).
The Co-development Fund for feature film projects between Italy and Chile has a budget of €80,000. The total amount will be divided equally by the two institutions: €40,000 will be destined to MiBACT’s DG Cinema and the other €40,000 will be for the Chilean CNCA.
With the goal of boosting the creation of feature film projects (open to any genre), the 2018 Italy-Chile Co-development Fund aims to cover the development expenditure items such as: authors wages; some associated costs related to the writing and development of the projects (research work, inspections, documentation, translation), labour costs, and possible legal expenses.
