Styrgerður is an Icelandic cook who returns home broke after having travelled the world for seven years. Her plan issimple: visit her mother and sister who own a farm, get some moneyand return to Bali, where she wants to open a restaurant.Onceat the farm, she discoversthat many things have changed in her absence: her sister Anna has turned the farm into a clinic for people with eating disorders and her mother, Bogga, works there as a cook. Styrgerður is forced to abandon her plan when Bogga gets hurt in a severe accident and she is requiredto take her mother’s place, cooking for people who do not want to eat. The healing power of her cooking and the patients’ stories will help Styrgerður and her family deal with the ghosts of a tragedy occurred years ago; a tragedy the three women have been running away from for most of their lives.
