The latest updates from American press sources have revealed that Viacom has finally rejected CBS’s acquisition offer, an all-stock deal that valued Viacom below its current market value of $12.3 billion.
The Viacom group is in charge of MTV, Nickelodeon and Paramount Pictures Studio. The proposition from CBS had also foreseen Viacom’s CEOs Bob Bakish to cede his position to CBS CEO Leslie Moonves, who would run the merger companies. Now Viacom is preparing a counter-proposal that, according to many sources, could be presented in less than 24 hours.
